What's WRONG with you?

"What's WRONG with you!??"
Did you have that accusation-posed-as-a-question repeated to you when you were young? Unknowingly, parents damage childrens' fragile self-esteem when they implant subconscious thoughts of something being basically wrong with them. That's what this question does.

We do the same with social mores. Think about it. (You wear womens' clothes? What's WRONG with you?) When you get down to brass tacks, what is the difference between male and female clothing -- they're both just fabric sewn in different patterns, right? So what's the big deal? Why can't you choose your own fashion statement, based on your own preferences?

Because when you probe the idea behind 'preferences' my dears, that's what the naysayers condemn. Some condemn crossdressing based on homophobic fear/hate; some base it on their interpretation of scripture; some just think MEN OUGHTA BE MEN and don't even question where our social conditioning comes from in the first place. You need to look at your own motives: why do you PREFER women's clothing?

 --  A man's item shall not be on a woman, and a man shall not wear a woman's garment; whoever does such a thing is an abhorrence unto Adonai.

In short, don't beat yourself up. Clothing is clothing. There is no sin in things, per se; it is in the motive. If you crossdress to make yourself feel better, are you automatically a bad person?
